Panel Technology Breakdown

Professional IPS (In-Plane Switching)

Superior color accuracy and viewing angles. Used in reference monitors. Prone to minor 'IPS Glow' in dark environments.

Consumer IPS (Fast IPS / Nano IPS)

High refresh rates and good response times for gaming, but lower static contrast ratios compared to VA.

VA Panel (Vertical Alignment)

Excellent deep blacks and high contrast (3000:1+). Often used in curved displays. Can exhibit 'black smearing' in fast motion.

OLED (Organic LED) & QD-OLED

Self-lit pixels deliver true black, near-instant response times, and infinite contrast. Subject to Auto Brightness Limiting (ABL).

01.How does the online Webcam & Microphone Hardware Test work?
Our diagnostic tool requests temporary access via HTML5 navigator.mediaDevices.getUserMedia(). It displays your live video feed and visualizes microphone audio input levels in real time.
02.Is my webcam video or microphone audio recorded or sent to a server?
No. Zero video frames or audio streams leave your device. All media processing happens 100% client-side inside your web browser.
03.Why is my browser blocking access to my camera or microphone?
Check your browser address bar permissions (click the lock/padlock icon) and ensure Camera and Microphone permissions are set to 'Allow'. Also ensure no other app (Zoom, Teams, Skype) is locking the camera device.
04.How do I test webcam video resolution and frame rate (FPS)?
Our video inspector reads live media track settings to report native resolution (1080p, 4K), active aspect ratio, and video frame rate.
05.What causes microphone echo or feedback during video calls?
Echo occurs when speaker sound leaks back into an unshielded microphone. Enabling Acoustic Echo Cancellation (AEC) or using headphones eliminates echo feedback loops.
06.How do I test my microphone gain and background noise level?
Speak into your microphone while observing the decibel meter. Green levels (-18dB to -6dB) indicate healthy speech volume; red levels (0dB) indicate clipping distortion.
07.Can I test external USB webcams and Bluetooth headsets?
Yes. Use the media device drop-down selector to switch between built-in laptop cameras, external USB webcams, and Bluetooth headset microphones.
08.Why is my webcam video dark or grainy in low light?
Webcam sensors increase digital gain (ISO) in low ambient light, introducing digital noise grain. Increase front lighting or position yourself facing a window.
09.What is the difference between mono and stereo microphone input?
Mono microphones capture a single audio channel; dual-capsule stereo microphones capture distinct left and right channels for immersive spatial voice recording.
10.Does this test work on mobile devices (iPhone, iPad, Android)?
Yes. Our tool is fully responsive and compatible with mobile Safari and Chrome, allowing you to test front and rear camera feeds and internal microphones.
